The Synoptic Gospel, 2 Edras, also claims that "people who have made a deal with the Devil to gain wealth and power will move humanity into accepting this New World Order.” 

 

And it will later reveal itself to be “A dystopian world empire, the work of Satan, the Antichrist and the false prophet.”

A lot is said of the bad things religion has done over the ages. But less about its contributions. What has religion and its churches contributed?

Suggestion: Believers and their churches have contributed more to education, healthcare, welfare, the protection of children and charity than anyone in history.

 

What were the medieval ordeals that people had to go through under church law?

Suggestion (Christian):

Suggestion: If a woman was accused of being a witch, she could be subjected to the ducking stool. The woman was tied to a stool and submerged in the river. If she drowned, she was not under the power of Satan and was innocent. If she survived, Satan was inside her and she was burned at the stake.

 

Men had a different ordeal by water, the signs of guilt and innocence were reversed.  The hands and feet of the accused were tied together and they were thrown into the water. If they started floating, it meant that they were innocent but if they sank they were declared guilty. 

 

There were trials by fire, where the accused had to walk a distance of about ten feet holding a red hot iron or retrieve a stone from a boiling kettle. Their wounds were bandaged and after three days, their bandages were opened. If healing had started they were innocent. God had intervened in order to save the innocent. If there were no signs of healing they were guilty because they weren’t worthy of God’s intervention. They were Godless. 

 

And there were ordeals by combat. A fight to the death with the victor proven innocent.

 

What did the dead sea scrolls reveal that the church didn’t want people to know?

Suggestion: The dead sea scrolls were books of the bible that the church had discarded so it could propagate exactly the message it wanted. The fact that these documents suggest Jesus was married to Mary Magdalene did not sit well with the idea of a holiness elevated from the needs of mortal man. 

 

What is the story of Adam and Eve?

Suggestion (Christian): In the Book of Genesis, God fashions Adam from dust and places him in the Garden of Eden. Adam is told that he can eat freely of all the trees in the garden, except for a tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Eve is then created from one of Adam's ribs to be his companion. They are innocent and unembarrassed about their nakedness. 

 

However, a serpent deceives Eve into eating fruit from the forbidden tree, and she gives some of the fruit to Adam. This gives them additional knowledge, but it gives them an awareness of shame and evil. God curses the serpent and it becomes a snake, to crawl on its belly on the ground for all eternity. God tells Adam and Eve of the consequences of disobeying God and then banishes them from the Garden of Eden.

It's suggested that without light, one cannot know darkness and without darkness, one cannot know light. Given the fact that we have experienced darkness, will there ever be a time where there is only light and no darkness?

We were talking about this series. A Dutch friend of mine said "Why would people look at moving pictures and listen to words. They see that all the time. Thats not changed anything. The world's energy will naturally evolve and do the things that are needed. Show everyone the energy and things will change." So is a steadily growing evolution of humanity taking place right now as people wake up and feel this new energy. Is that unstoppable. Is that how we arm our kids?
